an eco service preceded by a walk along the reclaimed railway line
A special service at St. Andrew's in Rugby hosted by the High Sheriff.
Also celebrating one of the significant local environmental improvements by the Rotary Club of Rugby - The Great Central Way Project. The Great Central Walk follows the route of the last mainline railway that was constructed by the Victorians as a fast trunk route between London through the East Midlands to the North. Its closure in the 1960s was controversial. A small section of the line through Rugby is now used as a pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.
