Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Exercise
I had the privilege of joining *Warwickshire Search and Rescue’s* largest-ever training exercise on Newbold Comyn, Leamington Spa. With 40 dedicated team members including 10 from *Northamptonshire Search and Rescue*, the scene was set for an intense and eye-opening operation.
The scenario? A missing person, followed by three “family members” in distress while searching for her. Each team faced real-life challenges, dealing with situations like dementia, psychosis, a head injury, and a panicked relative. Exercises like these ensure every member gains vital hands-on experience, preparing them for real emergencies.
Despite the *freezing* temperatures and biting winds, we powered through hours of searching in pitch-dark muddy fields, assisted by drone surveillance and expert dog tracking. The commitment and resilience of these volunteers—regardless of weather or terrain—was nothing short of inspiring.
A huge THANK YOU to all the selfless individuals who give their time to support our emergency services during crises. 🙌 Your dedication is nothing short of extraordinary.
