happy vaisakhi !

Happy Vaisakhi to everyone! Today, we come together to celebrate one of the most significant festivals in the Sikh calendar. Vaisakhi marks the arrival of the harvest season and commemorates the formation of the Khalsa in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a pivotal moment that symbolizes the values of courage, unity, and equality among all people. This festival reminds us of the importance of community, selflessness, and the spirit of giving.

It was a true pleasure to be present at the vibrant celebrations in Leamington Spa & Warwick Gurdwara, where the atmosphere was filled with joy (and delicious langar 😋). A special highlight was the presence of the Warwickshire Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, who engaged with members of the Sangat, sharing valuable insights on safety and crime prevention. Their efforts to foster a sense of security within our community are greatly appreciated.

We were also honored to have Matthew Hopley, the National Police Chaplain, who not only connected with the Sangat but also rolled up his sleeves to get involved in the Langar Sewa! He tried his luck at making chapattis and did a fantastic job—they were round!

Together, we not only celebrated our rich cultural heritage but also reinforced our commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Let’s continue to uplift each other and promote safety and unity in our community.
