Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service, Royal Leamington Spa

I telephoned the Warwickshire Fire Service to ask if I could come and see them.  I met everyone, we discussed a little about the latest situation regarding the enquiry following the Atherstone fire which had killed four Officers.  I also met “Greenwatch” and they entertained me well and took me up on the back of one of their fire engines up to the fourth floor!  However, there was a serious point in that they are trying to promote through the planning process/building regulation control the installation of sprinklers within houses of multiple occupation or residential homes or generally any vulnerable people.  Modern technology has improved so much that initial high costs have been prohibitive.  BUT the costs have come down, there will be no need for excessive fire doors etc and therefore there may not be any major increase in costs.  I was able to put them in contact with the RICS who can hopefully promote their cause as well.
